Before and After Stories
The following are actual clients of AumenteStyle. Check out the before and after pictures. Before is on the LEFT.
Brian Koeth
Brian is a fantastic carpenter and a distributor for Juice Plus whole food nutrition. For his business, a more casual style of dress is appropriate for his head shot.
In the “Before” picture, Brian’s muted warm coloring is completely overwhelmed by the dark maroon shirt that he is wearing. It makes his complexion look sallow, or yellowish, and instead of focusing on his face, we have a tendency to focus on the dark clothing that he is wearing.
In the “After” picture, there is much more harmony and balance with his clothing and his coloring. Brian is a “Muted, Warm” person, who looks better in colors that are not too dark, and not blue based. We are now focused on Brian’s face, more than his clothing. His skin has a “healthy glow” that is not present in the “Before” picture.
Connie Perney
Connie is an entrepreneur who works out of her home for a networking and marketing company. She wanted some head shots taken for her website. A relaxed, but professional look was suitable for her photographs.
In the “Before” picture, Connie looks pale and washed out with the creamy white blouse that she was wearing. Connie was wearing her usual minimal makeup, as well, which did little to enhance her beautiful smile and eyes.
Connie is a “Deep and Warm” person, who looks best in vibrant, warm clothing. By giving her the beautiful coral jacket and adding more color to her makeup, her beautiful skin, hair, eyes and smile look simply radiant! All we did was to enhance her natural beauty.
Margaret Leatherman
Margaret is a computer programmer and Microsoft Access Developer. We decided to give her a relaxed, fun picture for a change from her technical type career.
In the “Before” picture, you can see that the color of the clothing that she is wearing is very unflattering. The cool, and dark colors make her skin look ruddy. It is also much too strong for her coloring. Because of this, she appears washed out and uncomfortable
In the “After” picture, the confidence that wearing the right colors and complimentary makeup has created is obvious! Margaret exudes fun and self-confidence! The warm salmon colored dress, and the warm lip color and eye shadow make her skin look more youthful and healthy.
Robert Brassell
Robert was in the job market, so he needed a head shot that had an approachable and yet professional look.
In the “Before” picture, the coloring of his shirt is too strong for him. It causes him to look washed out and tired. Also, his hair definitely needed to be tamed somewhat, which is typical many times of men who have gone grey – because grey hair has a tendency to become wiry and dry.
In the “After” picture, Robert looks rested, healthy and relaxed. The medium grey suit and tie work very well with his “Cool and Light” coloring. We tamed his hair down a bit, and the results actually helped win him a position with a company the next week!!
Sarah Santee
Sarah wears many hats as a creative consultant, so she needed a head shot that exemplified her personality.
In Sarah’s “Before” picture, she is wearing a very bold print with strong, cool colors. She looks pale and tired with shadows in her “smile creases”. The scale of the print is overwhelming, as are the dark colors, detracting from her beautiful face, and drawing the eye to her clothing.
Sarah’s coloring is soft and warm, so she needs to be wearing more muted colors in yellow based, warm tones. This cream colored top is perfect for her. We added some color to her lips, cheeks and eyes, giving her a more vibrant, warm glow.
William Bradfield
Bill is the CEO of a Tech company. He wanted a head shot that wasn’t too formal, but more “Business Casual”.
In Bill’s “Before” picture, he is wearing very strong colors. The red is an “orangey” red, and reflects its color onto his neck and chin. It also causes his beard to appear rough, even though he is clean-shaven. The strong colors are throwing shadows around his mouth and eyes, as well. Another problem with what Bill is wearing, is that a soft collared polo shirt has a tendency to look “messy” when worn under a sports coat like this one because the collar becomes distorted under the heavier jacket.
In his “After” picture, Bill appears rested and the entire look is more harmonious with his salt and pepper hair and his complexion, which has cool undertones. He definitely looks healthier and younger with the more muted grey colors! His clothing reflects his position within his company, and the colors are much more flattering with his coloring.
Linda Miller
Linda is the volunteer coordinator at Center for Families and Children. She wanted a headshot for her online networking profiles, as well as for the company roster.
In Linda’s “Before” picture, the colors that she is wearing are dull and in the wrong color family. The warmth of the camisole under her jacket causes her skin to appear sallow, and the dark jacket is throwing shadows under her chin. Also, the amount of skin showing under the jacket may not be appropriate for a business head shot.
In the “After” picture, we decided to keep the same jacket (not everyone can afford to purchase a new suit for their pictures!) but we jazzed it up with a top that has a beautiful cool fuschia color, bringing color to her cheeks and eyes. Now, you can see those amazing blue eyes! We also gave her a brighter lip color rather than the dull plum color she had been wearing. Our hairdresser, Rachelle King, with The Studio in Ohio City decided to give her a “fake bob” lifting her hair up off of her neck so that it doesn’t overwhelm her beautiful features.
I want to thank Tasha Markovich who took the great pictures - we spent an entire day working with all of our great models, and Tasha worked incredibly hard and took many photos! Tasha's website is: www.tashamarkovich.com
I also want to thank Rachelle King owner of The Studio for doing the hair for our models. To contact her, call 216-281-1887 or the website is: www.thestudiosalon.biz
